Our paper has been accepted to ISCA!

We’re excited to share that our paper, “Lembas: Cost-Efficient Genome Alignment with External Memory and FPGA Acceleration,” has been accepted to the ‘International Symposium on Computer Architecture (ISCA)’!

Lembas showcases beautiful architectural solutions for genome alignment, including FPGA time sharing, a fully external-memory-based ColumnSort, and tiled traceback.

This work is another step forward in showing that we are pioneers in architecture for bioinformatics and proving that the collaboration between ARDA Group at UC Irvine and our lab is still powerful.

Huge congratulations to our first author, Seongyoung kang at Meta, and sincere thanks to my esteemed advisor, Professor Sang Woo Jun, for their invaluable guidance and support.😄
